From Windermere, Kendal and Central Lakes follow signs to Keswick,
then join the A66 to Cockermouth and pick up the signs for Maryport and the A594.
Once in Maryport follow the brown signs for Harbour attractions.
From the M6 use junction 40 (Penrith) and follow the A66 towards Cockermouth
where you will find Maryport is signposted. Beware of `Traffic Safety` vans parked
up waiting to catch speeding motorists. If there is light traffic there are long
stretches where it is easy to let speeds increase above 60mph.
From Whitehaven, use the A595 to Workington and then take the A596 from
Workington to Maryport. As you are approaching Maryport there will be brown
tourist information signs directing you to the harbour attractions.
From Scotland or Carlisle, use the A596 (Workington) road which takes you
straight to Maryport.

Maryport is situated on the scenic Cumbrian Coast line between Barrow in-Furness and Carlisle.
Maryport station is approx 10 minutes walk from the harbour area where the
Aquarium is located. Services are operated by Northern Rail www.northernrail.org
Maryport has good links by bus. There is even a stop outside our entrance, and
others stop in Maryport centre (5 minutes walk away). Get current times from
